A celebration of Kenyan and international music legends at Tatu City

THE EVENT, THE FIRST OF ITS KIND TO BE HELD AT TATU CITY, ATTRACTED FANS OF ALL AGES OVER TWO DAYS.

Tatu City attracted over 15,000 fans for the Koroga Festival on 6-7 of July, a record number for the music, food, fashion, and art event held for the first time at the 5,000-acre new city development just a 30-minute drive from Nairobi.

Headlining the celebration of Kenyan and African culture at Tatu City, legendary Nigerian afrobeat maestro, Femi Kuti, summed up the weekend of entertainment: “Your City, Tatu City!” he called out to the crowd.

Leading up to Femi’s powerful finale, Koroga-goers took in hip-hop artist Jua Cali, Kikuyu Benga music sensation Samidoh and Them Mushrooms, who in their third decade never fail to impress.

Christ Valliant, the community hip-hop group from BTL Estate next to Tatu City, opened the first day of Koroga with their “Tatu City is the Best” anthem, setting the scene for sellout performances by Gwaash and Ethic.

Capital FM MixxMasters DJ Leo, DJ Andre, DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Jo Kisila and DJ Rouge bridged the performances throughout the weekend.

Soaking up the atmosphere, Capital FM Chairman, Chris Kirubi, praised the Capital FM and Tatu City teams for their organistion. “This Koroga is unprecedented,” he said. “Let’s bring Koroga back to Tatu City as soon as possible!”

“This is the biggest Koroga ever, and it shows that Tatu City is an open city, for people from all walks of life,” said Beatrice Njeri, Head of Residential Sales at Tatu City. “We have plenty of space for everybody and look forward to hosting more large-scale events.”

The event drew support from MMC Law, Unity Homes, Copia, Karibu Homes, Stecol Corporation, Bowmans, Gallagher, Karibu Homes, EDG, and Hunkar Gas.
