Davis & Shirtliff builds ultra-modern facility at Tatu Industrial Park

Davis & Shirtliff Group, the leading supplier of water equipment and energy solutions in East Africa, has started the construction of a distribution centre at Tatu Industrial Park. The 10,000 sqm development on five acres also includes offices and state-of-the-art warehousing.

With its headquarters in Kenya and subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, and South Sudan, and a partnership in Ethiopia, Davis & Shirtliff will use the new facility to increase the company’s network to 70% coverage across Kenya and open its distribution network further in other African markets.

“Our new facility at Tatu Industrial Park brings a higher level of efficiency, larger deliveries, optimized stock holding, and well-organised distribution to partners and customers,” said Henry Davis, General Manager of Davis & Shirtliff Supply.

The new distribution centre is expected to be operational in July 2020 and employ over 100 people.

Alec Davis, Davis & Shirtliff Group Chairperson, said the facility will allow the company to expand its technical innovation.

“New products will be introduced at the facility at Tatu Industrial Park, which will revolutionise water solutions technologies in line with what the company’s clients have grown accustomed to under the Davis & Shirtliff brand since its inception in 1946.”

Other companies that are already operating or finalising building plans at Tatu Industrial Park include Dormans, Chandaria Industries, Kim-Fay, Africa Logistics Properties, Tianlong, and Stecol Corporation. In addition to being a Special Economic Zone offering a number of benefits to businesses, Tatu Industrial Park has wide-road reticulation, a 33 kV power supply with provisions for solar energy and 10 million litres of water storage.

Tatu Industrial Park is part of Tatu City, a 5,000-acre new city in Nairobi with homes, schools, offices, a shopping district, medical clinics, nature areas, a sports and entertainment complex, and a manufacturing area for more than 150,000 residents and tens of thousands of day visitors.
