Jilk Construction opens new base at Tatu Industrial Park

Jilk Construction Company Ltd, a leading Kenyan civil works and road construction company, has established a base at Tatu Industrial Park as part of its growth plans.

On a 5-acre plot in the logistics and light industrial area of Tatu City Special Economic Zone, Jilk has inaugurated a batching plant that produces concrete and asphalt concrete, paving blocks and road furniture for projects throughout Kenya.

“Jilk’s new home at Tatu City was selected as a base for our current and future business growth,” said Engineer Sammy Maina Kamau, CEO of Jilk. “With a superior location along the Thika Road growth corridor and excellent transport infrastructure, some of which was delivered by Jilk, Tatu City is the clear choice for any business seeking long-term opportunities and efficiency.”

Jilk’s wide range of services include roads and bridges; commercial and residential buildings; telecommunication civil works; installation, powering and commissioning of power lines and streetlights; supply and installation of substation and MCC equipment; and manufacturing of premix concrete.

“For many years, Jilk has delivered high-profile projects for public and private institutions, and we are delighted that the company has selected Tatu City as its new home,” said Tito Oduk, Commercial Sales Manager at Tatu City.

Jilk’s marquee projects include the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Primary Security Screening Facility, EABL’s water treatment plant and road infrastructure, various Thika Road infrastructure works and Kenya Breweries civil works.

Companies already operating or developing at Tatu Industrial Park include Cooper K-Brands, Dormans, Chandaria Industries, Twiga Foods, Kim-Fay, Africa Logistics Properties, Mapei, Copia, Tianlong and Stecol Corporation. Tatu Industrial Park has 20km of wide-road reticulation, a 33 KV power supply with provisions for solar energy and 10 million litres of water storage.
