Appolonia City collaborated with Ghana Free Zones Authority to host its first edition of an interactive business support event on 30 May 2023. Held on the theme, “Driving business growth through sustainable access to resources, information and markets,” the event brought together an impressive gathering of entrepreneurs, key personnel of the authority, stakeholder institutions in the banking sector, the Ghana Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority and the media to discuss challenges in doing business in Ghana.
The CEO of Ghana Free Zones Authority, Michael Oquaye Jnr, described the Free Zones Scheme as an integral part of the country’s economic growth. “Over the years, the Free Zones Scheme has achieved significant milestones. Today, we are happy to say we have over 200 companies across various sectors of the economy generating over USD1.9 billion in exports in 2022 and creating over 60,000 direct jobs since its creation”.
Speaking at the event, Yaw Acheampong Adjei, Marketing and Communications Manager for Appolonia City, highlighted Appolonia City’s status as a prime location for business, living and recreation. “Built with its iconic live-work-play concept, Appolonia City’s 2,535-acre land surface is specially designed to deliver high value for all three land uses”, Adjei said. He urged the entrepreneurs present to consider moving their businesses and homes to Appolonia City, where they can still enjoy the Ghana Free Zones Authority’s benefits alongside excellent infrastructure.
