Tatu City, the 2,500-acre mixed-use urban development on the outskirts of Nairobi, has launched its first television commercial in the Kenyan market, signalling a new stage of the revolutionary project that will ease the burdens of urbanisation and population growth on Nairobi.
The commercial, which illustrates the live-work-play lifestyle available for the development’s eventual 100,000 residents and hundreds of businesses, is set to the inspirational song “What a feeling”, the Academy Award-winning international hit by American actress-singer-songwriter Irene Cara.
As viewers of the commercial take a journey through the future that is Tatu City, the lyrics – “What a feeling, take your passion and make it happen! – compliment Tatu City’s own motto: “Live your dream. Make it happen.”
The commercial, which features an all-Kenyan cast actors, begins its run on Kenya’s NTV channel in prime time this week, and will make appearances in other media channels throughout the year.
The launch of the commercial comes as Tatu City rapidly develops. The project’s first residential phase, Kijani Ridge, is selling rapidly and more housing developments will be announced in the coming months. Meantime, Tatu Industrial Park, which includes 420 acres of serviced industrial land, is welcoming its newest tenants – Unilever, Dormans, Kim-Fay and Maxam – to the site.
Tatu City is located within easy proximity to Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Runda, Kenyatta University, UniCity, Thika Highway and the Northern and Eastern Bypasses.
