Mercy Nyabwala

As Group Head of Procurement, Mercy is responsible for driving the company’s procurement strategy, strengthening supplier relationships, and advancing process improvements across the procurement function. In this role, she will also provide leadership in cost optimization, sustainability initiatives, and governance in procurement practices.

Prior to this, Mercy spent 12 years at General Electric (GE), leading the procurement function across East and Southern Africa in diverse business streams, including GE Power, GE Oil & Gas, GE Healthcare, and GE Aviation. During her tenure, she successfully championed the launch of SSS ERP and an Oracle contract database, streamlining procurement processes and significantly improving turnaround times. She also delivered measurable savings through innovative cost avoidance and deflation initiatives.

Mercy is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership & Governance at JKUAT. She also holds an MBA in Corporate Governance from KCA University and a Bachelor of Education degree from Maseno University. In addition, she is a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS).
