Rendeavour recognised for contributions to GES 2015

Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban land developer, was recognised by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and a consortium of entrepreneurship leaders for its support for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). Rendeavour joined firms like Google, IBM and GE as a sponsor of GES, an innovative program launched by the U.S. government to advance entrepreneurship worldwide.

“We are proud to have played an integral role in supporting GES,” said Frank Mosier, Rendeavour’s lead American investor. “The GES highlighted how important U.S. investment is, and can be, in Africa. At Rendeavour, we aim to focus on entrepreneurship in Africa and increase U.S. investment in our visionary urban developments.”

Rendeavour’s flagship project in Kenya is Tatu City, a mixed-use development that will create tens of thousands of jobs during its 20-year, phased development, eventually housing 70,000 residents upon completion. As a top U.S. firm investing in Africa, Rendeavour will generate approximately 700,000 permanent and 1.5 million temporary jobs during its ongoing and future projects across the continent.

A top-level sponsor for the GES, held in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 25 and 26, Rendeavour’s booth was visited by hundreds of people from across Africa, ranging from buyers to developers. The company also held high-level meetings with the U.S. government on how to attract more American developers and service providers to Rendeavour projects, which are located in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
