Rendeavour showcases Alaro City at USA Fair, Lagos

Africa’s largest city developer, Rendeavour, has presented Alaro City, the new inclusive city it is building in the Lekki Free Zone, at the recently concluded USA Fair in Lagos, Nigeria.

The annual event, hosted by the US Commercial Service, saw hundreds of people attend the fair over three days, with over 35 American exhibitors either operating in, or looking to invest in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, Odunayo Ojo, the CEO, Alaro City, complimented the organisation and attendance.

“The event shows the significant interest in the Nigerian opportunity by US companies and the desire by the US Government to ease the access,” he said. “Alaro City is proud to support the United States government in providing ease of entry for companies wishing to set up new facilities or expand their existing ones in an area devoid of the usual issues they may face.”

In January, Rendeavour launched Alaro City situated within the Lekki Free Zone. The city, planned for 2,000 hectares, has received fast-track investment from Rendeavour, resulting in its first business facility already constructed on 5.4 hectares of land. The first facility is due to be operational in September this year. The first phase of urban infrastructure, such as 1.5km of road and a modular Independent Power Plant, is underway and due for completion by December.

Companies exhibiting at the fair, asides Rendeavour, included Garmin, Kellogs, Femdel, and AutoParts amongst others.

The USA Fair also saw attendance by the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador W. Stuart Symington, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, alongside the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Olayinka Oladunjoye, and Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Yewande Sadiku.
