Tatu City Welcomes 156 Elara, the Latest Premium Residential Development
Tatu City is expanding its residential offering with the unveiling of 156 Elara, a KES 5.6 billion (USD 42 million) development by Mi Vida Homes. The project comprises 156 luxury townhomes, further strengthening the city’s premium housing portfolio.
156 Elara joins established communities such as Kijani Ridge, widely regarded as one of the most sought-after luxury neighbourhoods in East Africa, alongside Silver Hills and the exclusive Kofinaf Tatu Residences. The development further reinforces Tatu City’s position as a fully integrated urban environment and reflects sustained demand for well-planned, quality residential communities in Kenya.
Located on a five-acre site within Tatu City, 156 Elara will feature duplex and triplex townhomes centred around Club Elara, a wellness-focused hub with a heated swimming pool, gym, and landscaped green spaces. Prices range from KES 25.6 million for three-bedroom duplexes to KES 44.5 million for four-bedroom triplexes, in line with Nairobi’s premium residential market.
“Our entry into the premium segment with 156 Elara is a deliberate evolution driven by market maturity and growing demand for low-density, high-quality homes. This strategic expansion positions us to deliver across affordable, mid-market, and luxury tiers over the next five years,” said Samuel Kariuki, Chief Executive Officer of Mi Vida Homes.
Residents of 156 Elara will benefit from access to more than 110 businesses operating within Tatu City, as well as a wide range of retail, banking, and dining amenities. The development is also located near leading educational institutions, including Crawford International School and Nova Pioneer Tatu International. In addition, Tatu City offers an extensive lifestyle environment, with over 100 km of exercise trails, parks, and green spaces, as well as a nearby urban wildlife sanctuary.
“Tatu City is already home to more than 7,000 residents, a number that will triple over the next five years as more families and businesses seek a better way of living and working. Together with Mi Vida Homes, we are expanding housing options to meet demand driven by migration from traditional urban centres and the rapid growth of Tatu City itself. Milestones such as the opening of Wellington College International Kenya, which will welcome 1,500 students from September 2028, will further strengthen Tatu City as Kenya’s leading live-work-play destination,” said Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour.
Tatu City continues to drive real estate growth in Kiambu County and the broader Nairobi metropolitan area. With 99.7% power reliability, 24/7 potable water, over 70 km of roads, and 110 km of high-speed fibre infrastructure, the city provides a strong foundation for both residential and commercial developments.
